We are dedicated to achieving your body's full potential - to finding your health. Whether you're recovering from an injury, have new symptoms, a new diagnosis, or have a chronic condition and have "tried everything else", Vail Osteopathy can help.
We use a functional approach to optimize wellness so you can thrive. If you're ready to embark on a new path to wellness, you're in the right place. The old Newtonian, linear, reductionist, one drug for one disease model isn't always applicable. A holistic and integrated approach is often required to address chronic issues where multiple organ systems are involved.
Holistic and Integrated
We apply a holistic and integrated approach to balancing the mind, body and spirit. A comprehensive holistic treatment program is utilized that incorporates the best of western medicine with Traditional Osteopathy.
Many chronic diseases have multifactorial causes to include nutritional deficiencies, chronic inflammation, intestinal dysbiosis, toxicities and hormonal dysregulation.
All natural approaches are initially utilized for healing when appropriate. Foods containing required nutrients may be recommended prior to supplements or prescriptions. Supplements or prescriptions may be appropriate when levels need to be balanced quickly.
Our bodies have inherent healing mechanisms. But can only function optimally when provided with the appropriate nutrients and building blocks for all cellular processes. Dis-ease, and especially chronic dis-ease, can develop due to an imbalance of essential nutrients such a vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and fluid.
Specialized testing may include: 24hr iodine and intracellular mineral and electrolyte levels
Chronic Inflammation and Food/Environmental Sensitivities
Low level food and environmental sensitivities (not true allergies) can cause chronic inflammation leading to various symptoms that may include weight gain, fatigue, body and joint aches, neurologic symptoms, gastrointestinal issues and many more. Specialized testing may include over 450 foods, additives, preservatives, metals, etc. A personalized diet based on testing results is provided. Heavy metal toxicity testing is also available.
Bioidentical Hormone Balancing
Hormones play a vital role in health and wellness. They control everything from the smallest cellular process to the way we feel every day. From thyroid imbalances to adrenal, insulin and sex hormones, hormone imbalances can cause fatigue, weight gain/loss, foggy thinking, persistent pain, sleep issues, etc.
We specialize in thyroid health, testing more than just the TSH. Optimizing thyroid function is a critical component of overall health and well-being.
Only if needed, bioidentical hormones are used to correct imbalances to include natural thyroid hormone and compounded formulations personalized for your specific needs.
Traditional Osteopathic Treatment
Traditional Osteopathic treatment offers a new paradigm in healing and addresses body fluid balance, connecting to your health, and reminds the body of it's original intent.
Osteopathic physicians are guided by innate, subtle forces to diagnosis and formulate each individual's unique treatment plan. There are no predetermined protocols. Each person is evaluated and treated as an individual.
Osteopaths use information from your history, physical exam, your body's natural rhythms, and other forces that may be affecting you (physical, biochemical, psychological, etc), along with an extensive knowledge of normal anatomy (structure) and physiology (function) and finely tuned palpatory skills, to diagnose and treat, allowing the fullest expression of your health to emerge.
Initial and Follow-up Visits
Initial visits are 1.5 hours and follow-up visits are scheduled for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Because each treatment is unique depending on your personal story, your appointment may take more or less time depending on what your body needs to accomplish that day.
Initial visits include a complete history and physical, necessary lab work or imaging studies, a treatment plan and initial osteopathic treatment. Follow-up visits include review of testing results, refinement of treatment plan and osteopathic treatment.
